So we have a flower bed in the front of our house. It is about 25 feet long and about 3 feet high but we need to replace the wall, the current one is about to fall down. Like everyone else we are working with a very small budget. We love the look of stack stone, but can’t afford to do that. So ideas we’ve been playing with: make our own blocks out of concrete and molds (time consuming), use ceramic tile on a board, or large stones from a field (cheap but maybe not quite as “refined” as we a re going for)…anyone ideas? needs to be cheap, hopefully look expensive!

Leroy
Railroad ties

The field stone can look pretty “refined” if you mortar between them, and then you can lay a “top course” with cast patio/paver block

Look for houses being demolished and ask to buy or have the bricks they get from the project.Railroad ties or landscape timbers would be the quickest and cheapest.

build a cinder block wall and stucco it or cover it in fake face rocks
